You might have been wondering what the hell has happened to me ?
Well, it’s a long story… But I’ve made it into Egypt ! The bike only arrived in Aswan, Egypt, today, the 15th of June… I have been cooling my heels….no…that’s definitely the wrong word… I have been boiling my heels here since the 10th, waiting for the arrival of the Big Fella… The barge bringing our vehicles apparently broke down…then we heard that the Captain was sick…
Everybody here “speaks with forked tongue”, so what really happened in Wadi Halfa, will forever remain a mystery…and the Big Fella isn’t talking either… He is sulking big time…!!! Keeps muttering something about being left in the sun for a few days… Tsk, tsk….
I will bring the site up to date over the next few days, including details of my last few days in Sudan, and the ferry trip to Aswan… There has been so much to do here, but without my laptop, I have not been able to document much of it… But I do have the photos…lots of them, so the next few posts will be short on words (do I hear sighs of relief??!!) and long on photos…
It’s midnight here in Aswan, and after spending 8 hours getting the bike through Customs today, sweating bullets in the unrelenting sun, I am a little buggered… And more than a little annoyed…
Tomorrow I head for Luxor, further up the Nile. It’s an early start to avoid the heat. (If I get any more sun, I’ll look like an Egyptian… Heaven forbid!) I hope to visit the Karnak Temple later in the day… This is the worlds biggest outdoor museum, spread over almost 20 hectares… It’s big, Dudes….bigger than all the lies the Egyptians tell…and they tell some whoppers, make no mistake !!
Right now, I’ve got to go check on the bike, to make sure the wheels are still bolted to the frame… Sticky fingers abound in this neck of the woods…

I would have thought you would have a great tan by now…..still looking very pale, and I think the clippers need abit of action too. Looking forward to your last weeks updates and photo’s. Be safe and I hope you can continue your journey with your original plans. Miss you like crazy, xxx
