On my last night in Gibraltar, we crossed into Spain (on foot!) and visited the annual La Linea Fair. At this time of year, there are many fairs taking place all along the Costa del Sol… It is a very festive time for all the inhabitants of the towns which the fairs are staged in… People save up all year to spend their money at these fairs, which run for about a week in one town, before moving on to another, usually leap-frogging other towns where fairs are already in progress…
Even though the La Linea fair is considered an average size one, it was far bigger than any I had ever seen back in S.A. . Thing get off to a late start here, usually around 10.00pm, and then go on all night and into the next morning, well after sun-up… These Spaniards can party hard when they get the opportunity !!
Here are a few snaps of us at the fair…

Loredana and I toast our winnings from the Air Rifle stand... Hit the target and you get a shot of Muscadel... John got three and I got two, so the evening was off to an excellent start...

Using all my hunting skills, I managed to bag this beast for Jenny, popping three consecutive balloons with a set of darts...

Looked like some of the places I had stayed in on my way up through Africa... This is the Spanish version of the Spooky Cave that we have at our fairs...
And with that, my stay in Gibraltar came to a close…
John, don’t go leaving Gib any time soon…!! I’m coming back for another visit in the future !! Get the Tiger ready for a long hard ride through Spain and Portugal…
