We have had a few great rides in Cambodia, and are now getting ready to make a flying visit to Vietnam… Our bikes will remain in Cambodia, as anything larger than a 250cc is not allowed in Vietnam…
Hereunder are a few images of our first ride across the border into Cambodia, until we reached Kampong Cham, where we spent our first night…
Since then, we have ridden on into the capital Phnom Penh, and have enjoyed a few days here with Morgan Parker…
I will be updating the website again on my return from Vietnam in a few days time…!!

Leaving Pakxe and heading for the Cambodian border...
All along the road south of Huay Keua, huge swathes of land were being cleared to plant Teak, Eucalyptus and Akasia trees......
Without any form of warning of its existence, we arrived at the Customs Post...!! Our plans to allow me to pass first with an unstamped Carnet, were shot to pieces...!! After a brief discussion with the Customs Officer, I was allowed out of Laos...
While the impressive new border post buildings are under construction, this porta-camp is being used as the Immigration Offices...
At the makeshift Quarantine Service gazebo, GB gets his temperature checked... If your temperature is above 38 degrees, you are not allowed into Cambodia...!!

We're in Cambodia...!!
Cambodian Fire Services extinguish burning undergrowth on the road to Stung Treng...
At the first major crossroad we came to, we took the turnoff to Kratie...
With the Big Fella running on fumes, we made it to this Petrol Station in Ou Pong Maan...
I stopped to take a photo of this truck which was delivering pottery...
The Boys wait patiently while we decide whether an overnight stop in Kratie was worth it or not...
Heading over one of the many single lane bridges crossing tributaries of the Mekong River...
Wedding reception spills out onto the main road outside Kratie... A common sight in both Laos and Cambodia...!!
The first stages of the roadworks presented no problems... Then got worse...!! Much worse...!!
Up on the pegs...!! The next 10 km would call for this...!!

End of the road... We had made it, dodging around a grader and a steamroller on the final stretch...

We rode our bikes into the restaurant and parked them below our rooms...!!
Basic does not quite describe our lodgings, but it was clean, service was friendly, and at $5.00 a night, we were not complaining...!!
Sausages drying out in the street... We went for a walk to find the French Restaurant....
And bumped into our friend from Pakxe, Morgan Parker...!!
There was much to laugh about while we waited almost an hour for our meal to be served...!!
"If the food doesn't arrive soon, I'm going to start chewing on one of my arms...!!"
